Misty Raines: Welcome. Welcome. Welcome. My name is Misty Raines. Everyone’s favorite reformed puck bunny joined by cohost, the puck bunny who stole the heart of the one and only Jack Ryan, Bridgette Daniels.
Bridgette Daniels: Hello. Hello. Hello.
Misty Raines: It looks like we have a jammed-packed show today, but first thing’s first. It is officially baby watch month!
Bridgette Daniels: Ahh, I’m so excited, but gosh, how bad would it be if she delivered literally during the Skipjacks first home game? I mean missing a pre-season game is one thing, but taking the man out of the game right when the season starts? That’s brutal.
Misty Raines: I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. However, can we take a moment to acknowledge how good Channing looks? Dad life is going to suit him well. I’ve seen photos of them out and about since they moved in together and total swoon. He’s going to be an amazing daddy.
Bridgette Daniels: I have to agree. Natasha managed to land herself a good one.
Misty Raines: A total keeper. A dad on the streets and a daddy in the sheets.
Bridgette Daniels: One hundred percent. I can’t imagine how Cassidy Reynolds is feeling about all this though. It was rumored that they were seeing each other before the scandal broke out.
Misty Raines: Obviously, I can’t imagine how she’s feeling. Your fiancé cheats on you with a puck bunny, then the man you started seeing after one total soul-crushing event has a baby on the way. Yeah, I don’t see that panning out too well for her.
Bridgette Daniels: Well, I’m sure she and Vince will work things out since his romance has apparently fizzled out with Cami. Surprise, Surprise. I heard he’s calling her the one that got away… Cassidy, that is.
Misty Raines: I guess only time will tell what will happen with these two couples.
Chapter 16
Pregnancy Journal Entry
12 weeks pregnant
Weight: 120 lbs.
Cravings: Tacos… tons and tons of tacos.
Finally, I’m able to eat again. The first few weeks, knowing I was pregnant with you, were rough. Okay, the weeks not knowing I was pregnant with you were also rough, but we’ll try not to think about that too much. Let’s face it, I was in denial that I was even pregnant. Well, that and the fact that when I did come to terms with the fact I was carrying your precious little life inside me, I had to accept that I’d be doing this all on my own.
If you’ve guessed that your father isn’t in your life, you’d guess right. However, you should know it has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with me and the fact that I had yet to even tell him you’re a thing.
Your mom is a COWARD.
That’s right, I said it. I’m a big, fat coward who can’t even tell your father you exist. I mean that could have everything to do with the fact he’s expecting a baby with another woman. Yeah, I forgot to mention that. You have a half-sibling who will be born a few months before you.
Nonetheless, that’s my issue. Not yours and maybe one day, I’ll situate that all out, but for now, it’s just me and you, little bean. Every day, I feel my body change, and every day, I fall in love with you even more.
I just hope that I can be a good mommy to you.
