He groans. “Maybe you can meet me in the bathroom?”

“Stop it,” I say, giggling.

“Fine,” he says. “But as my new wife, I’m going to make you feel like a goddess tonight.”

“You always do, my mountain god of thunder.” We kiss again.

EPILOGUE TWO

SILAS

Tens Years later

Agiggle comes from the shrubs. I creep over to it and wait. Silence.

“Found you,” I roar.

Adrian runs out from the bushes and I grab him before he escapes and pick him up into my arms. His giggles are infectious and I can’t help chuckling to myself. Our three-year-old son is a bundle of energy and keeps me on my toes.

The sun gleams off his blond hair as I carry him across Mom’s backyard to Delilah, who’s talking Chloe and Harper.

They’re talking about the cake store she opened up this year, which is still finding its legs. Already, the shop is the talk of the town and I know from Delilah’s driven personality that it will be a success.

Natalie, our oldest, sits with the ladies at the table, but she doodles away in her pad. She’s a child prodigy in art and proves to be a handful at times, but in that way, she’s like her mother. They both have creative sides and know how to wrap me around their fingers.

I don’t mind. In fact, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I even retired from bounty hunting because I wanted to spend more time with my family, which also means helping with deliveries and maintenance of Delilah’s store.

“There you are,” Delilah says, reaching out and cradling Adrian.

I lean down and kiss her and rub her tummy, where she carries our third child. “He’s getting better at hiding.”

“I’ve poured you a beer,” Delilah says.

When I take it, our skin touches and there it is again—a jolt of electric courses through me and I can’t take my eyes off her. She feels it too and locks eyes with me. She mouths words that go straight to my heart.

I sit beside her and hug her. Natalie comes and joins us and we sit and talk about the past, present, and future.

And I smile knowing that I hold them all in my arms. Looking into my angel’s eyes I whisper a thank you, because she’s given me more than I ever dreamed.

The End
