Page 67 of Owned By Frank
- Good. She took me out to the garden, okay? But nothing happened, absolutely nothing, Grace, nothing happened...
- Continue.
- We just talk, nothing more...
- And what did they talk about? Why the hell did they have to go to a place where nobody happened to be? - I mean sarcastically.
- We don't talk about anything important, Grace...
I laugh without being able to believe it.
- I tell you or you tell me Frank... - I raise a defiant eyebrow.
He rolls his eyes and lets out a tired sigh.
- Well - he gives up - Scartlett, she and I had a relationship, one that lasted a long time...
I try to stay calm but inside I am bursting in tears.
- Our relationship was good until she decided to cheat on me - my anger is lightening - she was somewhat ambitious, she loves to be on top of everything and everyone. People saw her as a good woman. I soon realized that she was just a fake, there was no love, there was nothing...
Starts undoing each button on his shirt.
- What are you doing? - I ask nervously.
He lets out a sigh and simply enters the room slowly.
I stand for a long time meditating on everything. The sincerity in his gaze was very clear. I have never been disappointed in the subject of love, I admit that I have been a complete coward about it.
I'm not complaining, nobody has been the right one. It's funny because nobody has been able to stand my character, except Frank of course, he's a fucking idiot who's always there to put up with my reproaches, I don't know how he does it but he always finds a way to get a smile out of me and that, I love that.
I let out a long sigh and just walked into the room. I look at Frank and he remains in bed. His body turns away from me and I notice that his breathing is slow. Then I know he is asleep.
I go into the bathroom and change my clothes for something more comfortable. When I come out, I don't wait any longer and settle down on the other side of the bed.
I listen to Frank's breathing and soon mine joins hih. When I least expect it, he turns around and pulls me into his body, thus holding me tightly.
- I guess you're upset... - I whisper.
- Who said I am? – He kisses the back of my neck.
I smile and let out a sigh.
- I believe you Frank... - I say in a whisper - I'm sure nothing happened...
- You are very smart... - smiles.
- Do you know how I know?
He nods as a no
- I know because you are not so stupid as to fall into the hands of that snake...
We both laugh in unison and Frank hugs me more tightly. We are completely silent until I decide to speak.
- I want to go now...
- That makes two of us. -.
